When all rust is lifted off, the items must be rinsed clean. This is
typically done under hot tap water. Coatings may appear on the items,
but they are easy to scrub off with a stiff brush or with light use of a
 scouring pad.

Certain metal alloys can give off a black surface on the
items when they are removed from the liquid. It is Evapo-Rust that pulls
some carbon atoms out of the surface of the workpiece. This surface
does not damage the workpiece and can be easily washed off under running
water, again by brushing or a light scrub.

Once the items have been cleaned, they must be protected from
new rust formation in the same way as items that have been sandblasted.
After derusting with Evapo-Rust, the items are almost as vulnerable to
new rust formation as if they were sandblasted. Therefore, the surface
must be post-treated. This can be done with SP, SP 350, our Zinc Primer
that you will find in the web shop, or any other product of your choice.
